Lawrence Atwell’s Charity

A grant is available for young people in the UK aged between 16 and 26 towards the cost of vocational training or equipment that is essential for work. The charity’s aim is to assist young people who come from a low-income background to become qualified or equipped to work in their chosen career.

  • Grants can range from £100 to £1,500.
  • Applicants must be aged between 16 and 26.
  • Applicants must come from households where parent/s’ total gross income is less then £26,000 per year and as been at this level for some time.

Grants can be used to pay for:

  • vocational training such as NVQ level 3, BTEC National Diplomas and City and Guilds courses
  • first step qualifications that help people to become qualified for work, such as NVQ Level 1 and 2, BTEC First Diplomas/certificates and access and foundation courses.

Funding can help towards:

  • tuition, enrolment, registration and examination fees
  • general living expenses during training such as travel to college, food and groceries and cost of accommodation
  • specific one off costs such as essential tools and items of equipment.
