Job Box offers advice for A level students on results’ day

Telford & Wrekin Council’s Job Box is on hand to help students on their next steps when they get their A level results tomorrow

Telford & Wrekin Council’s Job Box is on hand to help students on their next steps when they get their A level results tomorrow (13 AUG).

Many 17 and 18 year olds across the borough will find out their A level results tomorrow and some will be undecided about what to do next.

The Job Box combines a number of services aimed to assist job seekers across Telford and Wrekin, including FutureFocus which offers advice and assistance to anyone up to 19 years of age, and our National Careers Service for those aged 20+.

Youth unemployment in Telford and Wrekin has halved since the Council launched the Job Box in March 2014, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.

Councillor Gilly Reynolds, cabinet member for Skills and Employment, said: “There will be many 17 and 18 year olds who are getting their A level results tomorrow but who have no plans for their next step and we want them to know that we can help.

“The Job Box is a great resource for young people looking for work and training options in Telford and Wrekin, they can find out about what they need to get onto a further or higher education place, to get trained while they work on an apprenticeship or to find employment.”

Pupils getting their GCSE results next week (20 AUG) are also able to benefit from support and assistance from the Job Box over their next steps.
