What is FutureFocus?

FutureFocus is an impartial, free, Careers Guidance support service for young people living in Telford aged between 16 – 19 or up to 25 years with additional needs.

What can FutureFocus help with?

They provide impartial information, advice and guidance on careers and future planning.

They can also help you when things get in the way of your learning or future plans, and look at support services with you that might also be able to help.

Your FutureFocus Adviser will help you into and during your education, employment or training.

Your FutureFocus Adviser offers impartial, confidential advice and can help you with your learning and career plans.

You may like the following help:

  • Exploring realistic options including employment with training, education and training
  • Refer you (with your permission) to other organisations if further specialist support is required
  • Jobsearch, CV writing, applying for jobs and interview skills
  • Help with applying for an apprenticeship
  • Choosing the right courses
  • Finding the right careers information
  • Overcoming reasons not to carry on with learning
  • Increasing your confidence and building up your communication skills
  • Involving your family in your learning plan, if needed

Where can you find FutureFocus?

If you are educated in Telford and Wrekin you might be able to access FutureFocus through your school. Please ask your school/college for careers advice and they may support you with this or introduce you to your FutureFocus Adviser directly.

If you live in Telford and Wrekin but have left full time education please feel free to drop in and see us at Southwater 1 in the town centre.

Please note this is a drop in service so you sometimes have to wait a short time to speak to an Adviser.
